We regret to inform you that due to current public health concerns and precautions, the SCWMF Spring March 24 Conference is CANCELLED. 

We will be issuing refunds or we can apply funds to the next SCWMF event. Please contact our office at info@scwmf.org to either request a refund or apply the funds to the next event.

This year the Southern California Waste Management Forum would like to feature vendors at our Annual Spring Conference. Booths are table-top style booths and are limited to a first-come, first serve basis.  The cost for each booth is $305 and will include the cost of registration for one person to attend the conference.   If you are interested in securing a booth to promote your organization’s products or services, please submit a request asap. 
 

Event sign-in and on-site registration starts at 8:30 a.m., and the program gets underway at 9:00 a.m.

9:00AM   Welcome – President’s message - Olivia Sanchez
 

9:15AM    Keynote address - Matt Henigan serves as CalRecycle’s deputy director for Materials Management and Local Assistance. He directs the department's interactions with local government programs for waste and recycling and oversees CalRecycle’s programs for:

  • extended producer responsibility for mattresses, paint, carpet and pharmaceuticals

  • electronic waste

  • waste tires

  • business development

  • market development

  • grants and loans 

Previously Mr. Henigan served as the deputy secretary for sustainability at the California Government Operations Agency, where he directed efforts to reduce the environmental impact of state operations, including buildings, vehicles, and purchasing.  He has also served as the Sustainable Energy Advisor for the City of Santa Monica.

Mr. Henigan holds an MBA from the Presidio School of Management where he studied market-based solutions to environmental problems.  He also has a BA in Environmental Politics from Pitzer College.
